3. How do Committee for Children programs align with these principles for distribution and use of education funds under the ARRA?

Our programs align with three of the four principles.

a. Improve student achievement through school improvement and reform: All of Committee for Children’s programs contribute to improved school climate, which in turn can increase student achievement and bonds to school. Read more about our programs and student academic achievement.

b. Ensure transparency, reporting, and accountability: Most Committee for Children programs include evaluation tools to track and document program success.

c. Invest one-time ARRA funds thoughtfully to minimize the “funding cliff”: The SECOND STEP, STEPS TO RESPECT, and TALKING ABOUT TOUCHING programs have no consumables, and can be one-time purchases. Read more.
