American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Frequently Asked Questions
8. What does Committee for Children offer for teacher training and technical assistance?
Committee for Children offers training in the use of all of its programs. Schools can send staff to a regional training, or host a training on-site. We also offer “Training for Trainers” for our SECOND STEP and STEPS TO RESPECT programs. Training for Trainers participants learn how to train their peers in the use of the programs, so they can become an in-house resource. This creates a sustainable infrastructure of staff who can teach the programs and the skills for years to come. It can also give teachers leadership and professional development opportunities. These in turn may increase job satisfaction and teacher retention.
