Social and Emotional Learning
Social and emotional learning (SEL) teaches children how to deal with their emotions, resist impulsive behavior, resolve conflict, and make positive and effective choices. SEL develops the essential skills that children need to be successful in school and in life.
Research shows important connections between children's SEL skills and academic performance. In fact, a recent meta-analysis showed that using SEL curricula can help raise achievement test scores up to 17 percentile points.
