Second Step: Social-Emotional Skills for Early Learning

Focusing Attention and
Controlling Behavior

The brand-new SECOND STEP early learning program is designed specifically for multiple-age early learning classrooms. The program is taught through 28 weekly themes, consisting of short activities to be done throughout the week. The activities build on each other to develop children’s self-regulation skills and social-emotional competence.Second Step Early Learning Posters

The easy-to-use online Teaching Guide includes directions for teaching and reinforcing the weekly theme activities, video examples, and interviews with real teachers. The guide also includes resources for program directors to help them create professional development opportunities for their teachers. And the program works great with DECA (Devereux Early Childhood Assessment).
