Secure Sponsorship and Buy-In

Gearing Up: Administrators and Sponsors
Successful program implementation begins with strong sponsorship. The sponsor is the person with overall authority and decision-making ability to help ensure the program's success. This person is typically a school principal, assistant principal, district superintendent, agency director, or program coordinator. To meet the goal of successful school- or agency-wide implementation, the sponsor should:

  • Have a clear understanding of the goals, objectives, and structure of the program.
  • Believe in and be committed to the program's use.
  • Have the authority to guarantee the program's use.
  • Communicate effectively with staff members who will be using the program.

Below are a few suggestions to familiarize potential sponsor(s) with the program:

  • Preview a curriculum kit, watch online preveiw videos and read through our Programs section. You can also to speak directly with Client Support Services at 800-634-4449, ext. 6223 or, in the Seattle area, 206-343-1223, ext. 6223.
  • Attend an informational seminar or training. See the schedule of events.
  • Invite neighboring district administrators or teachers to share their experiences with the program. Contact Client Support Services to find someone who has experience teaching a program near you.
