What Our Partners Are Doing | By: Committee for Children What Our Partners Are Doing We are a member of the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. The Coalition's mission is a unified effort to promote the healthy development of children and youth and end child sexual abuse and exploitation. Recently the Coalition published its six key policy pillars, which have been identified as necessary to preventing sexual abuse and exploitation of children. You can use these pillars as a tool to influence the conversation about a comprehensive prevention policy agenda and to expand what is currently considered as relevant prevention policy. The pillars are a set of wide-ranging policies needed to make sexual victimization of children far less likely and to influence social norms toward prioritizing prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation of children. The pillars are: Strengthen youth-serving organizations’ sexual abuse and exploitation prevention capacity Support healthy development of children Promote healthy relationships and sexuality education for children and youth End the demand for children as sexual commodities Establish sustainable funds for prevention Prevent initial perpetration of child sexual abuse and exploitation Suggested Links: Committee for Children takes a position on corporal punishment in school.
