Happy New Year

January is a time to begin anew and to visualize what we want to achieve in the next twelve months. During a pandemic, it may be difficult to think long-term when the future is so uncertain. However, as Senior Research Scientist Mylien Duong stated in a recent Winter Well-Being video, working toward a goal gives us a sense of purpose and direction that improves our mental health. Committee for Children’s goals will always serve our greater mission to foster the safety and well-being of children through social-emotional learning and development. While there may be moments that challenge us along the way, we will always work to meet the needs of children, educators, and families.

This year, Committee for Children will explore ways to continuously improve our programs and resources to support our clients with integrity and in ways that truly matter in the changing context of the education space. In this video, I talk about some of the ways our organization will continue to deliver on our mission in the months ahead. Additionally, a few members of our Second Step Facebook community share their hopes for the new year.

Sincerely,

Andrea Lovanhill | Interim Chief Executive Officer
