National Action Alert: Child Sexual Abuse Child sexual abuse causes significant damage to our children, adults, families, and communities. Despite this widespread impact, we lack research about what works in the prevention of child sexual abuse. This gap is largely a result of the lack of funding to properly research, develop, and evaluate interventions in this area. We’re asking Congress to provide $10 million in new funding to the Division of Violence Prevention at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)—specifically for research, development, and evaluation of prevention programs for child sexual abuse. Your voice can make a difference on this important issue. Please take a minute to send a prewritten email to your federal lawmakers urging them to support this funding.
