This SEL Day, Put Children First Take action in celebration of the third annual SEL Day to recognize the importance of social-emotional learning (SEL) by advocating access to high-quality SEL! Now more than ever, we need to support young people’s well-being, resilience, and academic engagement. SEL is a fundamental tool for our schools and communities to employ when managing behavioral challenges, mental wellness, and violence prevention. Everyone should have access to SEL. And yet, there’s opposition across the country that deprioritizes or disparages SEL, or removes it from classrooms entirely, just when students are most in need of social-emotional skills and supports. Your state and federal lawmakers need to hear from you about why access to high-quality SEL matters. Use the widget to introduce yourself to your state lawmakers and urge them to prioritize and protect SEL in classrooms. It helps lawmakers to hear your personal experiences, so consider adding your own SEL story and why promoting access to high-quality SEL will benefit you, your family, and community at large. Thank you for speaking up to help ensure our kids have the tools they need to face today’s challenges and be prepared for the future.
