Bailie, president of the IIRP. “Committee for Children’s work in social emotional learning and commitment to fostering healthy communities is very much aligned with our own mission, and we look forward to our collaboration in making the conference a success.” The 2020 conference, which attracts roughly 700 attendees annually, will feature welcoming remarks by CEO of Committee for Children, Colleen Oliver, and presentations on a range of topics related to the emerging social science of restorative practices: social-emotional learning, facilitating challenging conversations, equity in education, restorative justice and law, community health, and more. “When SEL and restorative practices intersect, they can create positive outcomes that transform communities across the globe,” said Oliver. “This partnership offers the opportunity to really showcase how our organization, and others in the region, innovate in these growing fields.
