Committee for Children Announces Leadership Transition

Vice president Andrea Lovanhill to lead the organization as interim CEO

SEATTLE, Wash., July 17, 2020 — Committee for Children‘s board of directors today announced that Colleen Oliver is resigning from her position as chief executive officer (CEO). After speaking with the board and her family, Oliver has decided to depart for personal reasons effective immediately. To help facilitate this leadership transition, the organization has appointed vice president of marketing and client relations Andrea Lovanhill as interim CEO.

“We’re very thankful for Colleen’s service to our organization and believe Andrea will do a tremendous job leading us through this transition,” said Jon Reingold, president of Committee for Children’s board. “In Andrea’s 13-year tenure, she has proven herself a visionary advocate for the children we serve, as well as an extremely strong team leader. Andrea has the board’s full support, and we’re confident she’ll lead our organization to new heights.”

“Children need social-emotional skills now more than ever, and I feel a deep sense of honor and gratitude to lead this transition for our mission-driven nonprofit.” added Lovanhill.

Committee for Children’s Executive Committee will work with a consulting firm to facilitate a nationwide search for the new chief executive officer. Application details will be advertised in the coming weeks.
