Koua Franz appointed as Chief Strategy Officer in a newly created role

SEATTLECommittee for Children, a global leader in research-based social-emotional learning (SEL), has appointed Koua Franz as Chief Strategy Officer, effective March 14, 2022. In this newly created role, Koua will continue her work on the executive leadership team and report directly to Committee for Children CEO Andrea Lovanhill.

“I’m excited for Koua and Committee for Children and even more so for the communities and children we serve,” said CEO Andrea Lovanhill. “Strategy is the guiding force behind our mission to foster the safety and well-being of children through social-emotional learning and development. Koua brings a wealth of experience to help us develop new pathways and make systems-wide changes to further that mission and reach our North Star Goal.”

As Chief Strategy Officer, Franz will help Committee for Children ensure its strategic plans, organizational culture, and other organizational processes are optimized to support the execution of the organization’s North Star Goal: to positively and equitably transform the social-emotional well-being of 100 million children annually by 2030.

“Committee for Children is making a transformative impact in the lives of young people all over the world by championing SEL,” said Franz. “I look forward to contributing to that impact by bringing clarity to our team as we move together toward our North Star Goal. My job is to bring the best out of people, from creating strategies to enhancing our organization’s effectiveness to building individual capacities to create a just and peaceful world.”

In her new role, Franz will act as a strategic guide to ensure that across all levels and functions Committee for Children remains steadfast in its work to achieve transformative, positive outcomes for millions of children across the globe. In that capacity, Franz will research, develop, and continuously improve Committee for Children’s organizational strategy as well as lead initiatives to help increase transparency, clarity, accountability, and alignment with the organization’s North Star Goal and vision of safe children thriving in a just and peaceful world.
