At Committee for Children, we dream of a just and peaceful world where every child is safe and can thrive. Through our partnership with you, we seek to co-create a world filled with hope, understanding, and compassion where we embrace and celebrate our differences and live without fear of being attacked for our unique qualities. Our organization’s commitment to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) will be critical to achieving this vision. In service of our commitment, we’ve finalized an equity statement to help guide our work.

We recognize that this is a journey. Our equity statement and its commitments must be upheld with integrity every day to truly celebrate diversity, elevate the voices of those who have been historically and systemically marginalized and silenced, and build a world where every child can thrive. Today, we’re sharing an update on our journey with all of you, our partners in fostering the safety and well-being of children through social-emotional learning and development. We’ve launched a new page on the Committee for Children website where you can learn more about what we’re doing and check in on our progress. On this page, you’ll find:

  • Our new equity statement that outlines Committee for Children’s vision for becoming an anti-racist organization and helping to build an anti-racist, equitable, and inclusive society
  • A timeline and history of the DEI work we’ve accomplished to date
  • The commitments we’ve made to our people, our programs, our partners, and our communities

Follow Our DEI Journey

We are dedicated to ensuring our organization, programs, and supports reflect the diverse communities we currently serve and those we hope to serve. Thank you for your partnership as we continue our efforts to advance equity inside and outside of our organization.
