Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I hope you were able to spend meaningful time with loved ones during the start of the winter season. These past two years have been filled with many unpredictable moments. As we begin another new chapter, one element remains the same: our shared dedication to the children in our lives and in our broader communities who deserve strong social-emotional support and care always, and most especially during challenging times.

In this short video, I share some of the history and research behind the development of social-emotional learning (SEL) and emphasize the need for educators, families, and communities to work together to help children grow and develop their strengths, achieve their goals, and thrive.

Thank you for your continued partnership and advocacy of SEL. Together, we can ensure every child has access to SEL and is given an equal opportunity to thrive.

With gratitude,
